About Our Church

The Christian Science Church in Geneva is one of the worldwide branch churches of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, USA. Our members are ordinary people – teachers, students, business owners, lawyers, retired people and active members of the community, among many others.

As students of Christian Science, we base our spiritual practice on the Bible, while also using Mary Baker Eddy’s book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures as a guide to understanding the Scriptures and teachings of Jesus. We strive to follow Jesus’ example, not only by loving our neighbours, but also by healing the sick, as he taught.

Our church is governed democratically by its members, with neither a hierarchy nor a clergy. Any member may be elected to fulfill a particular role within the church. Our impersonal pastor is the Bible and the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

Adherence to the teachings of Christian Science is the only condition for becoming a member of our church, which you can choose to leave at any time. Our church is not affiliated in any way with Scientology. We are a non-profit organisation and there is no fee to join or to leave.
